>>No Shot Clocks for High School Games in Pennsylvania -- For Now
(Mechanicsburg, PA) -- A state committee has decided shot cocks should not be installed for high school games. Members of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association's basketball committee voted to reject the recommendation after reviewing responses to a survey of schools across the state. The vote was narrow -- almost 51 percent opposes a shot clock while a little more than 49 percent supports the idea. The proposal now goes before the full board for a final decision. Shot clocks are used in some states and some other states plan to add one next winter. This follows approval of the shot clock by the National Federation of State High School Associations.
