Boston Red Sox Are The 2018 World Series Champions

: The Boston Red Sox celebrate their 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game Five to win the 2018 World Series at Dodger Stadium

The Boston Red Sox are World Series champions after a 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game Five at Dodgers Stadium. Steve Pearce homered twice and Mookie Betts and J.D. Martinez also went deep as Boston won the best-of-seven matchup four-games-to-one. David Price allowed just three hits and one run over seven-plus innings to earn the victory.  

Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw gave up four runs in seven frames, including three homers, to take the loss. David Freese got the Dodgers their only run with a lead-off home run in the bottom of the first inning.

Red Sox first baseman Steve Pearce was named the Most Valuable Player. Along with hitting two homes runs in the clinching Game Five win, Pearce also hit a game-tying home run and a three-run double in Boston's Game Four win. He finished the series with a .333 average, three homers, eight RBI and five runs scored. 

It's the fourth championship since 2004 for the Red Sox and their ninth overall.
