Former NASCAR Driver Candace Muzny, 43, Dies in Accidental Drowning

Police in Oklahoma are investigating the death of former NASCAR driver Candace Muzny after she was discovered inside her Ski Island home near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Munzy, 43, was discovered unresponsive inside her home Monday afternoon

Police initially described Muzny's death as 'suspicious,' but said there were no obvious signs of foul play,KOCO 5 reported. According to a report from the Medical Examiner's office, Muzny's death has been ruled an accidental drowning.

Muzny made national headlines last month after she was arrested for allegedly slapping a manicurist at a nail salon and punching and threatening another worker with a knife because they were speaking Vietnamese instead of English.

The 43-year-old was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on a police officer. In an interview with Heavy.com, Muzny said that she 'backhanded' the manicurist after she repeatedly told the worker to stop speaking Vietnamese because she'd “asked her three times to stop speaking Vietnamese to me. I was paying with the American dollar."

She was accused of threatening the worker with a pocket knife as well as battery on a police officer, who responded to the disturbance call at the nail salon in Oklahoma City on Jan 12.

The former NASCAR driver competed in several events, including two races in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and in NASCAR Late Model divisions. She also participated in the 2007 Toyota All-Star Showdown and 2009 Last Chance Open. Munzy started her own team, CNM Racing, in 2009.
