If You Care About Player Health, Spring Football Is Not a Viable Option

If You Care About Player Health, Spring Football Is Not a Viable Option

Clay Travis is talking about what has been the story of the week this week, college football. The Big 10 and Pac-12 Conferences have cancelled their fall football seasons, and now the conversation has surrounded possibly having a season in the spring. Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm released a detailed plan on how spring football could potentially work.

Clay gives credit to Jeff Brohm for trying to be creative to have a college football season, but Clay argues that a spring season just is not possible, especially if player safety is of top importance.

Clay lays out all of the challenges he sees in trying to have a spring season, including players sitting out for the draft, the fact that the season would be happening during peak cold and flu season, and it would also force college football players to play in 2 full seasons in the span of less than a year.

According to Clay, spring football just simply is not an option, and when you break everything down with the spring football idea, it doesn't make a ton of sense.
