Flooding Danger Remains In Central PA

(PA) -- Forecasters say the heavy rain is gone from Central Pennsylvania for now but the threat of local river flooding remains. The Susquehanna River is forecast to crest just below flood stage at 16-feet, four inches Friday. The flood stage is 17 feet. Other regional streams and waterways are also expected to crest near or just above flood stage by Friday. Those include Shermans Creek, Swatara Creek and Conestoga River.

RAIN TAPERS OFF:

Smaller creeks and streams will continue running high and fast for the next 24 to 48 hours, but the heaviest of the rainfall is behind us! We can expect mostly cloudy skies with a few pop up light rain showers today and it will once again be on the cool side with highs in the low 50s.

SUSQUEHANNA RIVER:

Good news as it is now forecast to crest tomorrow below flood stage at 16.4' but it will be running high and swift so please use caution along all area waterways.
