The Little League World Series (LLWS) continues on its second day in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The tournament, which began on Wednesday (August 13), features 20 teams, with 10 from the United States and 10 from international regions. The event will run through Sunday, August 24.
On the U.S. side of the bracket, today's matchups include Massachusetts facing South Carolina, and South Dakota taking on Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, the international side will see Czechia play against Japan, followed by a game between Chinese Taipei and Mexico.
The LLWS uses a double-elimination format, meaning teams have to lose twice to be eliminated. Each game consists of six innings, with extra innings added if necessary. All players are between 10 and 12 years old.
The tournament takes place at two venues: Howard J. Lamade Stadium and Volunteer Stadium, both located in Williamsport. The games are broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC, with streaming available on Watch ESPN and the ESPN app.
This year marks the fourth edition of the LLWS since it expanded to a 20-team format in 2022. Notably, the Seattle Mariners and New York Mets will play in the MLB Little League Classic on Sunday (August 17) at Bowman Field, adding to the excitement of the event.
The U.S. and international championship games are scheduled for Saturday (August 23), with the LLWS championship game set for Sunday (August 24) on ABC. For more details on the schedule and teams, visit the CBS Sports website.
