The Hershey Bears have announced that their popular Teddy Bear Toss game will take place on Sunday, January 4, against the Rockford IceHogs. The event, known for its "Sweet Cuddly Mayhem," invites fans to throw stuffed animals onto the ice after the Bears score their first goal. These stuffed animals are then donated to local charities through the Hershey Bears Cares program. Last season, the Bears set a world record by collecting 102,343 stuffed animals during the event, surpassing their previous record of 74,599.
The Teddy Bear Toss is part of the Bears' promotional schedule for the 2025-26 season, which kicks off on Saturday, October 11, with a home opener against the Syracuse Crunch. Fans attending the opening game will have the chance to participate in a red carpet event and receive a giveaway rally towel. The Bears will also celebrate their 20th anniversary as an affiliate of the Washington Capitals with special Capitals Nights throughout the season.
In addition to the Teddy Bear Toss, the Bears have planned various themed nights and giveaways, including Penn State Health Pink the Rink Weekend and Hockey Fights Cancer Night. The team will also host several other promotional events, such as Members 1st Bobblehead Night and Pepsi Cowboy Hat Night, offering fans a range of exciting experiences throughout the season.
The Bears' promotional schedule promises to be packed with fun and community engagement, continuing their tradition of combining sports with philanthropy. Fans can look forward to another record-breaking Teddy Bear Toss and a thrilling season of hockey.
