On this edition of The Odd Couple, Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington react to the news that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is closing in on hiring offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer as their next head coach, and with this off the wall move, Rob Parker explains all the support the Cowboys fans give the organization, explains why Jerry Jones isn’t accountable for these questionable coaching decisions.
Rob Parker: I'm not blaming Jerry Jones, OK. I'm not blaming Brian Schottenheimer. I'm blaming the Dallas Cowboy fans. This is what you have allowed to continue to happen with all these terrible coach hires. We've seen teams push back on ownership. New Orleans, the Saints, when they were the ‘aints’ and people wore paper bags over their heads. Dallas Cowboys fans, you deserve this because you're the enabler of Jerry Jones. You have made his franchise bigger, stronger, richer by your engagement & that's why Jerry doesn't feel compelled to go out and get the best coach.
Kelvin Washington: Jerry Jones toyed with Mike McCarthy, played around with Deion Sanders, you let Aaron Glen go, Ben Johnson go, you let Mike Vrabel go, I genuinely don't know what GM would do, & this GM would be fired, if the GM wasn't the owner
