Passenger Rail From Berks County To Philadelphia May Become Reality
(Reading, PA) -- A group of local community leaders says passenger rail service connecting Berks County to Philadelphia may become a reality. Officials with the group Berks Alliance are producing a study on the potential impact of passenger rail in the county. The train could make stops in or near Pottstown, Phoenixville and Philadelphia, and beyond with a trip from Reading to Philly costing about nine dollars and taking just over an hour. The group's study is expected to be unveiled in about two weeks.
