Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Lemoyne, PA

A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Lemoyne, Cumberland County, on Thursday (October 2) evening. The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. near the intersection of South Third Street and Lowther Street, in front of a KFC restaurant. Emergency responders, including units from the West Shore Bureau of Fire, arrived at the scene shortly after the crash.

The victim, identified as a 71-year-old man, suffered a severe head injury and broken ribs. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition. According to Local 21 News, the man has not yet stabilized but is still alive.

The eastbound side of Lowther Street was closed for several hours following the accident, reopening after 9 p.m. The driver involved in the incident has been cooperative, and no charges have been filed at this time. The crash is currently under investigation by the West Shore Regional Police Department. WGAL reports that a local resident described the street as a "speed track," with vehicles often traveling at high speeds.
