What happens during the ceremony?

The museum conducts an annual 9/11 Bell Tolling Ceremony to honor those killed in the September 11 attacks, especially the firefighters and first responders who lost their lives. Community members, firefighters, and families gather as a historic firehouse bell is rung at the times corresponding to key events of that morning.

In past ceremonies, bells have been tolled at:

The 9/11 Flag Run/Carry is a Patriot Day remembrance event being held at Naval Support Activity (NSA) Mechanicsburg on Friday at 8:00 a.m. It is organized through the NSA Mechanicsburg Morale, Welfare & Recreation (MWR) program as a way to honor those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 attacks.

The Hampden Township Veterans Recognition Committee (HTVRC) Patriot Day Remembrance is a community memorial ceremony honoring the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks and the people who responded in their aftermath. It is scheduled for Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial, located at 4345 Marketplace Way, Enola, PA

This event is organized by the Harrisburg Bicycle Club and combines a memorial bike ride with attendance at a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at HACC's 9/11 Memorial. It is part of the region's observance of the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
